The Sant Feliu de Guíxols Chamber of Commerce celebrates Water Day with a debate

In commemoration of World Water Daythe Chamber of Commerce of Sant Feliu de Guíxols together with the Circle of Infrastructures organized last Friday a debate on the challenges of drought and the uses of water under the title “The challenges faced by companies in the face of the drought”.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Pere yachand the president of the Infrastructure Circle Foundation, Santi Villathey opened the act that the collaboration between the two entities resumed.

Throughout the debate and subsequent colloquium, presented and moderated by the journalist Josep Puigboaspects as diverse as the drought plan approved by the Generalitat, the restrictions announced to deal with the lack of water and its impact on industry and the tourism sector or the initiative of the Lloret de Mar hoteliers to finance one desalination plant from the private sector.

All the speakers of the day agreed on what is needed “close the water cycle”that is to say, reusing all the water that is used in agricultural or industrial uses and regenerate it when it comes to food consumption usesthe so-called mouth water, as a great challenge for the future.

Among the attendees, in addition to numerous entrepreneurs from the industry, tourism or infrastructure sectors, there were Elisabeth Sanchezdirector of Territorial Services in Girona of the Climate Action Department; the president of the Selva Regional Council, Martí Pujals; the third vice president of the Regional Council of Baix Empordà, Agnes Gasull and the deputy mayor and councilor for tourism, economic promotion, business and employment of the town council of Castell-Platja d’Aro-S’Agaro, Imma Gelabert.
