Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chand said that the story of fearless brave freedom fighters should be conveyed to the new generation.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Independence Festival 2024’ organized at the Kavi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the National Museum in Shahbag on Sunday (March 24) on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of Bangladesh’s great independence.

The event was organized by the joint initiative of National Museum, Russian House in Dhaka and Muktijudda Academy Trust. 26 brave freedom fighters were felicitated. At the beginning of the program, the guests observed a minute’s silence paying deep respect to the memory of the martyred freedom fighters.

The Land Minister said, on the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the brave freedom fighters jumped into the historic struggle for our national liberation. After the victory, they started the work of building Sonar Bangla under the leadership of the father of the nation.

He said that Bangabandhu’s privileged daughter Sheikh Hasina has planned to build the ‘Golden Bangla’ of Bangabandhu’s dream by implementing Smart Bangladesh by 2041. Energized by the spirit of the liberation war, the new generation will have to lead it in the future to implement Smart Bangladesh.

At that time, Narayan Chandra Chand gratefully recalled the help of Russia (the then Soviet Union/Soviet Russia) and India in the liberation war of Bangladesh and said, Russia’s strategic and India’s tactical support accelerated our victory in the liberation war.

Director General of the National Museum was present among others. Kamruzzaman, director of Dhaka’s Russian House, Pavel Dvoichenkov. The ceremony was presided over by Muktijoddha Academy Trust Chairperson Dr. Abul Kalam Azad.
