At least two people have died and more than a million have lost power due to strong storms that have affected the east coast of the United States, from the northern state of Pennsylvania to Georgia, in the south of the country.
The Police have reported that a 28-year-old man has died this Monday after lightning struck in the city of Florence in Alabama, while in South Carolina a 15-year-old boy has died, whom a tree has fallen when he got out of a vehicle, reports the CNN television network.
The recorded storms have caused heavy rains, thunder and winds of up to 112 kilometers per hour, causing interruptions in more than 8,000 flights, which have been delayed, and more than 1,600 that have been canceled. On the other hand, the fall of trees, hail and rain have destroyed power lines, leaving without electricity a million customers of public services in the states of North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Maryland, which are the most affected in this sense.
The threat of storms has not disappeared, since there is a risk of thunderstorms in parts of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida, as well as Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas, reports the aforementioned television network.
