The widow of singer Alexander Gradsky, Marina Kotashenko, was assaulted, 100 million rubles were stolen from a woman, TASS and Interfax report, citing sources. Representatives of the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region told the agencies that a criminal case was opened in connection with the incident on robbery (Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the attackers were wanted. The Moscow region prosecutor’s office clarified that we are talking about robbery on an especially large scale – that is, with damage from 1 million rubles.

The robbery occurred in the Naro-Fominsk urban district, according to the website of the Moscow Region Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs without indicating the personal data of the victim. “According to the victim, following from the direction of the village of Glagolevo in a car, she felt a blow to the back of her car and got out of the car. At that moment, three men approached her, threatening her with an object resembling a weapon, they forced her to follow her to her place of residence, where they took a large amount of money and disappeared,” the message says. A similar description, but with a mention of the widow of Mr. Gradsky, was published by the regional prosecutor’s office.

The police are conducting investigations in the house of Ms. Kotashenko, a source told TASS. “They are looking for traces of fingerprints of intruders, looking at data from nearby surveillance cameras, collecting materials for forensics,” he said.

Alexander Gradsky died in November 2021 at the age of 72. According to media reports, a few days before he was hospitalized with a suspected stroke. Mr. Gradsky was the author of more than 18 albums, several rock operas and rock ballets, and many songs. He has written music for more than 40 feature films, as well as dozens of documentaries and animated films.
