The winners and prize-winners of the 29th Azerbaijan Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship among athletes in the adult age category (born in 2008 and older) were awarded at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Day.Az reported on Saturday.

Winners and prize-winners are determined in four types – exercises with ribbon, hoop, clubs and ball.

Zohra Agamirova won the gold medal for the hoop exercise, Alina Mamedova won the silver medal, and Ilona Zeynalova won the bronze medal.

Ilona Zeynalova rose to the highest step of the podium in the ball program, Zohra Agamirova took second place, and Alina Mamedova took third place.

Medina Demirova won gold in the clubs exercise, Zohra Agamirova won silver, and Alina Mamedova won bronze.

Zohra Agamirova won first place in the ribbon program, Ilona Zeynalova took second place, and Medina Demirova took third place.

Zohra Agamirova, Ilona Zeynalova, Medina Demirova are students of the Ojag Sports club, Alina Mamedova represents the Republican Complex Sports School.

The awards were presented to the winners and prize-winners by a member of the Athletes’ Commission of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), coach of the Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnastics team Siyana Vasileva, member of the Technical Committee for Rhythmic Gymnastics of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), chief judge of the competition Natalya Bulanova, managers of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Namig Badirkhanov and Surkhay Garayev.

It should be noted that the competitions of the 29th Azerbaijan Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship were held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on March 21-23. The competition was attended by pupils of the “Ojag Sports” club, the Specialized Children and Youth School of the Olympic Reserve in Gymnastics, the Republican Complex Sports School, the “Grasiya” sports club, the “Kur” Olympic Training and Sports Center, the Ganja Olympic Sports Club, the “Cultural Center” Zira” and the Olympic Sports Complex in Sumgayit.

The 29th Azerbaijan Championship was held in three age categories – “pre-juniors” (born in 2011), “juniors” (born in 2009-2010) and “adults” (born in 2008 and older), among athletes performing in individual program. Teams also took part in the competition in group exercises among “juniors” (born in 2009-2011).
