With the aim of preventing businesses from unjustifiably raising prices during this holiday period, the Consumer Ombudsman carried out a product inspection in businesses near the Costa del Sol, in La Paz.

“As the Government of El Salvador we continue to carry out these verification operations in different businesses that we know have a large influx during this period,” said the president of the institution Ricardo Salazar.

According to the head of the Consumer Ombudsman’s Office, they have carried out 165 verifications nationwide in different establishments such as hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets and other businesses that are highly visited by the population.

“One of the main findings is the identification of expired products. 22 cases of expired products have been detected, both in supermarkets, as well as in restaurants and convenience stores,” the official stated.
