WORLD: The Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) has not yet issued a recommendation for a vaccination booster. Does politics know better than the doctors and scientists at Stiko?
Christine Falk: Jens Spahn and the health ministers of the federal states took a lot of time and received intensive interdisciplinary advice from experts in long meetings. In many expert rounds there were also Stiko President Thomas Mertens, President of the Paul Ehrlich Institute, Klaus Cichutek, and colleagues from the clinic, virology, immunology, health authorities, hospitals and other pandemic-relevant areas. Politicians are generally well informed.
WORLD: You yourself have also listened to such groups of experts and dealt particularly intensively with the question of the third vaccination. Who do you think should get a third vaccination?
