The CNE resolved that voters will receive a single two-color ballot, A3 size, to comment on the questions posed by Daniel Noboa.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) approved this Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the design of the ballot for the referendum and popular consultation that will take place on April 21 and will cost USD 60 million.

The decision was made unanimously, one day after the official call for the plebiscite, which will have 11 questions promoted by the Government of Daniel Noboa. Voters will receive a single two-color ballot, A3 size:

The referendum questions, that is, those that involve changes to the Constitution, will be salmon in color.

Popular consultation questions will be gray.

The questions will be listed in alphabetical order, from the letter A to the letter K, in order to facilitate training and scrutiny for the members of the vote receiving boards, explained the president of the CNE, Diana Atamaint.

In the plebiscite, voters will decide on the participation of the military in arms control, the increase in penalties for crimes linked to organized crime and the possibility of public forces using weapons seized from criminals.

Other proposals from the Executive are to allow the extradition of compatriots, recognize international arbitration in commercial disputes and give the green light to hourly work, which unions oppose.

In addition, the organization updated the electoral calendar regarding technical and operational tasks for the 2025 general elections.
