Trapper Jordan Jeffrey Baby kills himself in Pavia prison – News

by time news

He was found lifeless in his cell with a rope around his neck. Thus trapper Jordan Jeffrey Baby died by suicide, 27 tumultuous years, several attempts to take his own life already behind him and a conviction for a robbery aggravated by racial hatred. Jordan Tinti, this is the musician’s real name, committed suicide in a cell in the Torre del Gallo prison in Pavia, where he was serving a sentence of 4 years and 4 months.

In April 2023, Jordan was found guilty of robbery aggravated by racial hatred against a 42-year-old worker originally from Nigeria. The attack took place in an underpass of the Carnate station (Monza and Brianza). The Roman trapper Traffik, sentenced to five years and four months, also participated in the robbery together with him. They had addressed unequivocally racist threats and phrases to the Nigerian worker, “you’re black, we’ll kill you”, and the whole thing was also immortalized in a video.

Three months ago Jordan was transferred to a community in Pavia, after having obtained the measure of therapeutic custody. But the measure was then suspended by the Surveillance Court which ordered the young trapper’s return to prison. Jordan had already attempted suicide in the past and had confided to his lawyer that he had suffered mistreatment and abuse during his detention. Another suicide in prisons, this time in Campania. A foreign inmate took his own life in the Secondigliano penitentiary.

The man, a homeless man, was serving a sentence for murder and had hit the headlines in August 2019 for being the only prisoner to escape from the Poggioreale prison in one hundred years of history. It is the fifth in Campania, since the beginning of 2024. According to the Campania Guarantor for people deprived of personal liberty, Samuele Ciambriello, “the rate of suicides in prison is 20 times higher than the suicides of free people. Concrete answers are needed here and now, before there is the irreparable”.
