And’explosion in a chocolate factory in West Reading, Pennsylvania, killed at least two people. Numerous injured (the authorities reported that eight people were taken to Reading hospital), several are also missing.
The incident occurred inside a factory RM Palmer Company, which was destroyed. An immediately adjacent building – reports Mayor Samantha Kaag – was moved forward a few meters by the force of the explosion.
RM Palmer, founded in 1948, around this time he was working at full capacity for the production of Easter cakes, especially the traditional chocolate eggs. West Reading, site of its headquarters: 850 employees are employed in the plant, reports the official website.
The explosion occurred on the afternoon of March 24, a few minutes before 5pm (local time). Investigators are working to determine the cause.
