The head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party “Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia” Mamuka Mdinaradze responded to the authorities of Ukraine, who expressed dissatisfaction with the export of Georgian dairy products to Russia. The representative of the Georgian government noted that the evaluations from Ukraine are painful for them.

Referring, in particular, to the statements of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and Verkhovna Rada speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, according to which the Georgian authorities, against the backdrop of military operations in Ukraine, have decided to start trade with Russia, which in turn has allowed 15 Georgian dairy companies to enter the Russian market, The head of the ruling faction of Georgia said:

“In the background of our special relations with Ukraine, as well as Georgia’s political and humanitarian support to Ukraine, the negative assessments of some representatives of the Ukrainian authorities about Georgia are painful for us. “Yesterday, we heard a similar assessment from the representative of the Ukrainian parliament, which, surprisingly, in this case referred to dairy products,” said Mdinaradze.

He added that some Georgian companies have been negotiating with the Russian side regarding representation on the Russian market since 2020. The representative of the Georgian ruling faction also reaffirmed the position of the authorities of his country not to join the package of sanctions against Russia.
