After a day of hiatus due to the winter weather that befalls the country this week, the quarterfinals of the Israel Wilson 2021 Championship for seniors and seniors took place today (Thursday). Due to the rains that fell at the municipal tennis center in Raanana, the games were moved to the tennis center in Ashkelon today and ended, except for one game that was stopped due to the rain. Due to the postponement, the finals of the Israeli Championship will be held on Saturday in Raanana starting at 10:00 in the morning – admission to the games is free.
The first-ranked men, Yishai Uliel, defeated Ron Aluk 4: 6 and 2: 6 and will meet his Davis teammate, Daniel Zuckerman (ranked 4) tomorrow, who defeated Uriel Kimchi 2: 6 and 2: 6. In the second semifinal, Idan Leshem, ranked 2nd, who defeated Roi Ginat 2: 6 and 2: 6, and Saar Simon (5), who defeated Shahar Elbaz 1: 6 1: 6, will meet.
In the women, the senior ranked, Lina Glushko, won 0: 6 and 1: 6 over Liam Oved and is waiting in the semifinals for the winner between Nicole Nadel and Agam Gamliel. Tomorrow the competition will return to Raanana when the semi-finals will open at 10:00 in the morning with the meeting between Uliel and Zuckerman in the main field, after which Glushko will face Nadel or Gamliel. At 10:00, the other two semifinals for men and women will also take place at the same time, and the women’s quarterfinal game will be completed – free admission.
