Users are in no rush to adopt Windows 11

by time news

The Statcounter website has updated the market share data of the popular operating systems in the market for last November. The numbers show that Microsoft has not really managed to penetrate the Windows 11 operating system that was launched in October last year, with its market share now standing at 16.12% of computers. An encouraging figure for her is that the market share of Windows 10 fell below 70 percent for the first time.

Windows 7, which from the beginning of next year will no longer receive official support and updates from Microsoft, has a market share of about ten percent, while Windows 8 and 8.1 almost disappear with 0.79 and 2.54 percent respectively.

In an analysis of the entire operating system market, Windows is actually the second operating system in the number of users, with Android in first place (43 percent). In this comparison, Apple’s iOS comes in third place with 17.25 percent, while OS X designed for Macintosh computers is in fourth place with 6.09 percent.

On the Statcounter website you can also see data by country, but it seems that in Israel – even if the market share data is not the same as the global average – the ratio between the different operating systems is maintained. Windows gains a relatively larger market share (35 percent), mainly at the expense of OS X, which is less popular in Israel (3.6 percent). In Israel, too, there is a slight upward trend in the percentage of Windows 11 users, although certainly not an onslaught.
