Batting first, India’s openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul both batted aggressively. Rohit Sharma scored 28 runs off 16 balls and KL Rahul scored 28 runs off 20 balls to set up a good start. Due to their action, the Indian team accumulated 62 runs in 6 overs of Powerplay.
After that only Virat Kohli stood at one end and Suryakumar Yadav (13), Rishabh Pant (14), Hardik Pandya (0) and Deepak Hooda (16) at the other end were disappointingly dismissed.

Even though the wickets fell at one end, Virat Kohli, who played steady at the other end, scored a half-century. Kohli scored 60 runs in 44 balls. Kohli, who was said to be out of form, played a responsible role in the crucial game and saved the team by scoring a half-century. After scoring 181 runs in 20 overs with Kohli’s half-century, the Indian team set a target of 182 runs for Pakistan.
