Danny Avdia played 35 minutes tonight (between Friday and Saturday) and played well in Washington’s 110:102 loss against Miami at home. The Israeli scored 15 points on 75% from the field and recorded the most minutes under new coach Brian Keefe.

Avdia added eight rebounds and two assists along with three turnovers and five fouls. He is 6-of-8 from the field, 1-of-2 from beyond the arc and two-of-three from the free throw line. One of the reasons for his many minutes this time is the absence of center Marvin Bagley.

Washington dropped to 39:9 at the end of the close game against the runner-up, when the one who stood out for the Wizards was Corey Kispert who started on the bench and provided one of his best games with a season high of 26 points.

On the other side, Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 24 points and nine rebounds and Bam Adebayo scored 20 points along with 14 rebounds. Terry Rozier and Tyler Hero each scored 15 points en route to their second straight win.

For Avdia’s team, Kyle Kuzma stood out with 13 points and Daniel Gafford with 11 points and 14 rebounds which were not enough. The Wizards still led at the break, but the Heat ran 6:23 at the end of the third quarter on the way to a comfortable lead that they did not relinquish.

About half a minute to the end, the host did narrow the difference to three points, but Paul missed his second shot from the line and thus prevented the possibility of a comeback. Washington’s next game will be against Kevin Durant and Phoenix on Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
