Goosebumps feeling in the three million euro week.
Grand finale on Friday evening at “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”: Presenter Günther Jauch (67) had three million euros to give away. For the previous winners of the week that meant: immoral offers from the Quizmaster!
Philipp Hohenberger (31) went into the final with the highest win. He had cleared 125,000 euros and chatted happily about his everyday life as a police officer.
This time, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” attracted three million euros instead of one million

Now Jauch wants to encourage him to gamble: He offers him a guaranteed win of 50,000 euros if he plays for around three million, and there is also a joker exchange if desired. Hohenberger thinks for a long time – but then grudgingly agrees: “It already hurts!”
Nevertheless, he quickly makes it to the 100,000 euro question. Jauch wants to know: “What do the athletes Jochen Rindt and Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips have in common? A: born in Verona, B: grew up in Palermo, C: married in Venice, D: died in Monza?”
Hohenberger has never heard the names before and seeks help from an additional joker in the audience. He has a clue: “This is D. These are the Formula One racing drivers. They both died there.”

That’s right: a total of 150,000 euros for the police officer! He decides not to continue gambling and is stunned by his win: “It means so much to me! I come, I would almost say, from the lowest social class. I lived alone with my mother.” There was even a lack of food: “There were days when we only had noodle soup together all day.”
But Hohenberger never gave up: “I worked a lot to get out of there at some point. However, big jumps were not possible. I’ve never been on holiday abroad!”

Even the first holiday abroad is included in the prize: Hohenberger wants to travel to New Zealand soon.
