Winterthur: Large-scale deployment of police and fire departments

Shortly before 2 a.m., the operations centers of the Zurich cantonal police and the Winterthur city police received a threat that a dangerous object had been left in a vehicle in Winterthur. The investigation, which was initiated immediately, led to a parked vehicle in the Guggenbühl district of Winterthur over the course of the morning.
For safety reasons, several dozen residents of the surrounding houses were evacuated and cared for in Technorama.

The police then searched the identified vehicle for dangerous objects using a remote control manipulator. No suspicious items were found. Residents were allowed to return to their homes at 11:15 a.m.
The identity of the caller is currently unknown and is the subject of an ongoing investigation.

Together with the Zurich cantonal police, the Winterthur city police, the fire department and civil defense from Schutz & Intervention Winterthur, Schutz & Rescue Zurich, the Zurich Forensic Institute, the SBB intervention, the transport police and the rescue service from the Winterthur Cantonal Hospital with an emergency doctor were on duty.
