The qualifying competition was in two groups. M Sreesankar entered the final by securing the second position in Group B. Cleared the qualifying mark of eight meters in the second attempt. Sreesankar’s is in 8th place in the final with 12 people.
Sreesankar is the first Indian male athlete to enter the men’s long jump final at the World Athletics Championships.
