2023 World Cup; Neither India nor Pakistan nor Sri Lanka will be favourites, because ‘India’; Sangakkara openly

After last year’s T20 World Cup, the ICC One Day World Cup to be held in India in 2023 is the next global event to be held in cricket. India will host the 2023 World Cup.

This is the first time since 2011 that the World Cup is coming to Indian soil. India reached the top of the cricket world for the second time after defeating Sri Lanka in the final.

But the former Sri Lankan captain and cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara says that there have been significant changes in cricket after ten years and neither India nor Pakistan will be favorites in the 2023 World Cup.

The star’s remarks were made during a chat show on Star Sports.

I feel that cricket has changed a lot since 2011. Asian conditions are not only helping subcontinental teams now.

But I think over the years England, New Zealand and Australia have learned to deal with spin situations better than the subcontinental teams,’ said the player.

Sanga added that foreign players have learned how to deal with spin attacks like this through IPL.

‘Reverse sweeps, paddle shots and sweeps are all new strokes. IPL has helped a lot to play and practice all this,’ added Sangakkara.

All the players like Glenn Maxwell and Jonny Bairstow are very good at attacking the spin bowlers.

He said that none of the key players of the Indian team should miss a single ODI match at least till the 2023 World Cup.

The ICC ODI World Cup starts on October 10. The final match is on November 26.
