A video of the execution, presumably, of a Ukrainian prisoner of war, has appeared on the Web. Where and when it was made is still unknown. The Office of the President of Ukraine called the incident a war crime.

The video was published by Ukrainian and Russian Telegram channels. On it, a man in the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, standing in a shallow hole, finishes his cigarette and says “Glory to Ukraine.” After that, a machine gun burst and the exclamation “Yes, you, ****, die” are heard.

When and where the video was made is unclear, its authenticity has not yet been confirmed by independent sources.

The video was commented by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak. He stated that Russia cultivates war crimes, justifying them with “propaganda and myths about the Nazis.”

“The killing of a captured person is another example of this. It is also an example of their national insignificance and weakness. There will be retribution for every such war crime. No one can hide from her,” Yermak wrote on his Telegram channel.

Recall that the Geneva Convention prohibits the ill-treatment of prisoners of war. Russia and Ukraine periodically accuse each other of violating these rules. So, in November last year, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case after the appearance of video recordings made near the village of Makeevka near Svatovo in the Luhansk region. In the first one, a group of military men, presumably in the form of the Russian armed forces, is taken prisoner in the courtyard of a residential building, then a man with a weapon appears, gunshots are heard, and the video cuts off abruptly. On the second, the bodies of 12 soldiers in the same uniform are already visible.

At the end of July, a video of the torture of a Ukrainian prisoner of war was published on Russian Telegram channels, in which a man’s genitals were cut off with a clerical knife.
