Al-Muthanna Investment launches a project to cultivate 35 thousand dunums of palm trees and wheat

Today, Friday, the Muthanna Investment Authority announced the launch of a project to cultivate 35,000 dunams of palm trees and wheat.

The head of the authority, Adel Dakhel Al-Yasiri, said in a statement received by the (INA): “The Rafdi Iraq Company has begun its strategic project to cultivate (25) thousand dunums of wheat and (10) thousand dunums of palm trees in the Samawah desert, using modern irrigation techniques and methods.” Modern in fertilization and seeds used for the first time that are resistant to drought and salts.”
The statement added, “The goal of the important strategic project is to restore Iraq’s green identity by planting the Samawah desert with wheat, barley, palm trees, and other agricultural crops.”
He stressed that “within (5) years there will be (10) thousand dunums of palm trees with multiple textile types and from international origins, English and American,” adding that “this project will contribute to employing a large number of workers.”
