Ashok Elluswamy from Tamil Nadu has been appointed as the first employee of Tesla’s driverless electric car manufacturing team.
Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla, confirmed the news on his Twitter page. In it, Ashok Ellusamy is said to have been hired as the first employee of Tesla’s electric vehicle ‘Auto Pilot’ team. Elon Musk said Ashok would lead the team to work on automated engineering technology.
Ashok Elluswamy previously worked at the Volkswagen Electronics Laboratory and the Wapco Vehicle Control Center. Elluswamy holds a Bachelor of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the College of Engineering, Chennai, and a Masters Degree in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.
