Former Myanmar ruler Aung San Suu Kyi has been placed under house arrest after being ousted in a military coup. After the coup in February 2021, the army detained them first in their own homes and later in an undisclosed location. He was transferred to a jail in the capital, Nepito, on Wednesday. The military said in a statement that the action was in accordance with the country’s criminal law. Seventy-seven-year-old Suu Kyi could face up to 190 years in prison if convicted in the current case.
