Beer Sheva on the rise: a new innovation center will be established in the city

The Innovation Authority announces that it has chosen the Synergy 7 company to establish the innovation center in Be’er Sheva, which will span four years, during which the authority will invest NIS 25 million in promoting the innovation and high-tech ecosystem in Be’er Sheva, as a metropolitan center for the entire southern region. As part of the center, three innovation centers will also be established in Be’er Sheva in the fields of medical data, autonomous robotics and cyber defense.

Synergy 7 is jointly owned by Ben Gurion University of the Negev, B.G. Negev Technologies and Applications, Soroka University Medical Center from the Klalit Group, Mor Research Implementation, Elbit Systems, Incubit Technological Entrepreneurship and the Mirage Israel Fund. In addition, the development center of Dell Technologies in Israel is a strategic partner.

“We are very excited to implement one of the most important projects in recent years to promote the geographical diversity of Israeli high-tech,” welcomed Dror Bin, CEO of the Innovation Authority. “Be’er Sheva has great potential to grow into a significant technological hub and a magnet for entrepreneurs, startups and growing high-tech companies. The innovation center, which will be established in the city’s new innovation district, will include dedicated laboratories with the most advanced equipment in the world that will allow entrepreneurs and high-tech companies from around the country, practical experience, dedicated workspaces and acceleration programs (accelerators) that will cater to entrepreneurs from the south, including diverse and underrepresented populations such as minorities and women. The entrepreneurs and start-up companies that choose to operate in Be’er Sheva will benefit from access to mentors and advisors from various fields, investments and dedicated grants, personnel training, events with the participation of key players in the innovation system, as well as support for participation in conferences and events in Israel and abroad. The program is also intended to create an infrastructure to attract large high-tech companies that will develop activities in the city of Beer Sheva.
