Benoy Kodiyeri will pay the child’s living expenses; The High Court adjourned the hearing of the settlement petition

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court adjourned hearing the petition filed by Binoy Kodiyeri and a woman from Bihar seeking settlement of the molestation case. This is after Binoy’s lawyer failed to appear yesterday. However, it is indicated that the reason for the absence of the lawyer was that it took a long time to prepare an accurate answer on the issue related to marriage.

Yesterday, when the case was heard, the woman answered yes and Binoy said no when asked if they were married. When asked about the child’s future, there was no clear answer. Yesterday, the court asked him to submit a detailed and accurate reply.

Both of them approached the High Court demanding that the case be dismissed with conditions including paying the living expenses of the complainant’s son. Earlier, the complainant had claimed that Benoi was the father of her son. Binoy also underwent DNA testing. However, the DNA test report has not been released yet. Attempts to settle the case began when the complainant again approached the High Court demanding disclosure of the report. Binoy has not acknowledged the son as his in the terms of the settlement.

In June 2019, the young woman lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police alleging against Binoy. It is alleged that he was tortured for many years with the promise of marriage and that he has a son in that relationship. While working at a dance bar in Dubai, he met Binoy, who was a regular visitor there. He promised to get married if he quit his job. Used to go to Benoy’s house. She became pregnant in November 2009. Then returned to Mumbai. Binoy assured his mother and sister that he would get married.

In February 2010, he rented a flat in Andheri West and moved there. In the meantime, he regularly came and went from Dubai. Money will be sent every month. But in 2015, it was announced that the business was bad and it was difficult to pay. Later, when called, he started avoiding. In 2018, Binoy was identified as married. When asked about this, there was no definite answer at first. Then the threats started. The woman’s complaint says that she did not pick up the phone.
