Two Bulgarian coaches have left their mark on Tanzanian football.

In the period 1993-1995, the legend of “Loko” (Sofia) Yordan Stoykov-Bumbo, who has an impressive coaching career mainly outside Bulgaria, worked in “Malindi” from Zanzibar.

In 2008, one of the two best teams in the country – “Simba”, was led by Krasimir Bezinski, one of the most loved players and coaches in the history of CSKA.

The stars of Tanzania, who play right in “Simba” and “Young Africans”, will leave the team’s camp in Azerbaijan immediately after the match with Bulgaria on Friday, the team announced.

A total of nine players from these two squads will be released to better prepare for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League. From “Simba” these are Aishi Manula, Mohammed Hussein, Kennedy Juma and Kibu Dennis. Young Africans players are Abutualeb Msheri, Bukari Muamnieto, Ibrahim Baka, Mudathir Yahia and Clement Mzize.

“After the match with Bulgaria, all the players from Simba and Young Africans will leave to prepare with their clubs for the important matches on the continent,” said Tanzania’s presser Clifford Ndimbo.

He also added that the promising young striker Kelvin John, who plays for the second team of the Belgian Genk, should arrive these days. The 20-year-old has caught the attention of coach Hemed Suleiman-Morocco with 4 goals in 24 games in the second division. Otherwise, the boy was on the preliminary list for the African Cup, but in the end he did not earn the trust of the then coach Adel Amrous, who was suspended for 8 matches and because of this, Morocco now leads the team.

This means that while the Tanzanians will be with a group of 23 against Bulgaria, only 15 players will remain for the final match with Mongolia, including one goalkeeper.
