The rise in prices for cars in Russia will continue in the second half of 2021, TASS reports with reference to the official representatives of the Rolf and Avilon car dealerships.
“The rise in prices for new cars does not stop, in particular, prices for a number of models increased during June, some of them increased from July 1. It can be predicted that the gradual rise in prices will continue in the coming months, ”said a Rolf spokesman. At the same time, according to him, there will be a shortage of some models of new cars. As a result, it becomes more profitable to buy a used car, since there are lower prices in the secondary market and there is no shortage of cars.
A further increase in car prices is expected in Avilon. This can happen due to a shortage of new cars, inflation and fluctuations in the exchange rate against the ruble. According to a company representative, in the first half of 2021, prices for new cars increased by an average of 5-10%, depending on the brand, model and configuration. The highest growth was recorded in Fiat Doblo – from 9.6% to 13.2%. That said, a number of luxury brands such as Aston Martin, Ferrari and Maserati did not add value.
According to the Association of European Businesses (AEB), sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia in January-May 2021 increased by 38.7% compared to the same period in 2020 to 663,312 units. The AEB forecast for 2021 assumes market growth of only 2.1%.
