According to reports, the central government is likely to sell 13 gold mines in Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh this month.

It seems that the central government is taking this decision to encourage the contribution of the mining sector in the country’s gross domestic product.

There are 10 gold mines in Andhra Pradesh. Out of which only 5 mines are going to be auctioned on 26th. The other 5 mines are going to be auctioned on the 29th, according to central government information.

Ramagiri North Block, Pokhampalli North Block, Pokhampalli South Block, Javakula-A Block, Javakula-B Block, Javakula-C Block, Javakula-D Block, Javakula-E Block, Javakula-F Block are up for sale in Andhra Pradesh.

A notice has already been sent last March regarding the sale of these gold mines.

Gold mines in Uttar Pradesh are also sold this month. However, no date has been announced. Sonapahari Block, Dhruva-Piyadant Block, Sonbhadra Block are to be sold. The notification for this has been published on May 21.

Last year 45 mineral zones in U.P. were auctioned by the government. On the 4th alone, 199 mineral zones were auctioned. This auction will provide good revenue sharing to the central government and the state government.
