The aircraft manufacturer Boeing is having production problems. Now, among other things, the boss is drawing conclusions.

Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun has said he will step down at the end of the year as part of a major restructuring. This is reported by the “Wall Street Journal”. Boeing shares reacted to the news with a price increase of more than two percent in premarket trading. In the recent past, production problems at the aircraft manufacturer have attracted considerable attention.

According to the report, Boeing also said that the head of its commercial aircraft division, Stanley Deal, would also resign with immediate effect and that the chairman of the board of directors, Larry Kellner, would not run for re-election. Deal will be replaced by Stephanie Pope, who was recently named chief operating officer.

After several incidents involving Boeing aircraft, the company is under pressure from investors and airlines to come up with a plan to address quality problems.
