Last January, four officials filed complaints against Pilar Toncio and the decision was adopted after the administrative summary ordered by the Ministry of the Interior.

The Government asked the director of the Pension Department of the Carabineros of Chile (Dipreca), Pilar Toncio Arcos, to resignafter receiving a series of complaints about harassment and workplace abuse.

This was announced by the Undersecretary of the Interior through a statement, in which it stated that “Pilar Toncio, whom he appointed to Senior Public Management in July 2023, has been asked to resign“.

Harassment and abuse accusations

According to what was revealed, Toncio’s departure from Dipreca is related to four complaints of mistreatment and workplace harassment filed against him on January 18.

As detailed, the complaints were presented by the head of Organization and Methods, Paulina Diaz; the head(s) of the Department of Public Relations, Communications and Citizen Participation, Valeska Gomez; the head of the Institutional Affairs and Communications Unit, Daniel Moralesand the general secretary of Dipreca, Jose Miguel Gutierrez.

It was also recalled that last January The Ministry of the Interior gave instructions for an administrative summary to be carried out to investigate the reported facts.
