Elections. Cavaco Silva appeals to AD’s vote and accuses PS of “deceiving and deceiving” voters

by time news

In an article published this Saturday in the Correio da Manhã newspaper, Aníbal Cavaco Silva reveals that he will vote for the Democratic Alliance in the legislative elections, arguing that “only the AD can guarantee political stability”.

The former president of the Republic says that Pedro Nuno Santos “does not meet the minimum qualifications” to be prime minister and accuses the PS of “lying, deceiving and deceiving voters”.

Luís Montenegro, in turn, “is much closer to what the qualities and behavior of a prime minister should be”, says Cavaco Silva.

The former head of state argues that political change and a new direction for the economy are essential, which only the AD and Luís Montenegro are able to ensure.

“The AD program was prepared by an excellent team. If applied with determination and courage, it creates conditions for a sustainable increase in the purchasing power of salaries and pensions and for resolving the country’s social problems”, he maintains.

On the contrary, Cavaco warns that “voting for extremist protest parties only contributes to the nomination of the PS leader as prime minister, with all the negative consequences for the country and the living conditions of its citizens.”

Cavaco Silva also accuses the Socialist Party of having wasted “many millions of support from the European Union” and “an absolute majority in less than two years”.

“Now, on the way to the elections, there are numerous announcements of benefits and promises”, he states, accusing “the PS propaganda machine” of being “capable of anything to deceive the Portuguese”.

“The Democratic Alliance (AD) coalition is the only alternative to the socialist government for all voters who aspire to a better future for Portugal”, argues Cavaco. “Any vote other than for the Democratic Alliance is wasting an opportunity for change”, he concludes.
