Electricity announces an increase in production capacity and directs the rehabilitation of gas fields

Today, Monday, the Ministry of Electricity revealed the entry of 660 megawatts into the national system during the current month, confirming that work is underway in the final stages of delivering electricity to Nasiriyah Civil Airport, indicating that the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Kaabi, directed the ministry’s support through the budget to increase Preparation hours in Dhi Qar, while indicating that the government is moving towards rehabilitating gas fields to be used in operating electrical stations.

Ministry spokesman Ahmed Musa told the (INA): “The Ministry seeks to enter approximately 660 megawatts from the Wasit Thermal Station, with the efforts of the staff of the National Ministry of Electricity, after it completes maintenance on generating stations No. 3 and 4 during the current month.”
He added: Our staff were able to deliver electricity to Nasiriyah Civil Airport, and this is considered a strategic project, as work is underway to complete the final stages.
He pointed out that “the Minister of Electricity, during his stay in the House of Representatives, reviewed his ministry’s efforts to advance a strategic plan in Dhi Qar Governorate, after increasing the financial allocations to the ministry.”
He stated that “First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Kaabi, directed to support the Ministry of Electricity by allocating funds within the budget to continue removing injustice and unfairness from Dhi Qar Governorate through the electricity file.”
He explained, “The government is moving towards rehabilitating gas fields, to use it in operating power stations, in addition to its efforts to diversify energy sources.”
