Flekkefjord, Police in Agder | Person retrieved from the water in Flekkefjord – searching for one more person

On Sunday evening, a rescue operation was launched in Flekkefjord after people had been observed in the water. One person was retrieved from the water at 18.50.

At the same time, the police confirm that there is one more person who has not been accounted for. The search for the person concerned is still ongoing.

– Divers are on site and are conducting a search in the water, write the police, who will continue the search overnight until Monday.

To The friend of the fatherland informs the task leader, Joakim Jaabæk, that the people involved are foreign and that there are some language problems. They are also asking people to stay away from the area.

– It is probably a family that has been affected, says operations manager Øyvind Hægeland VG.

It is supposed to be two people in their 20s, the police confirm. Both are foreign nationals living in Norway. Hægland says that more resources are on their way to contribute to the search, including a rescue helicopter and an air ambulance.

The newspaper Agder writes that the call-out started on 18.10.

– A helicopter drops off divers at Roligheten and searches from the air afterwards. The fire brigade, plus some local acquaintances with boats, are searching along the shore. Others bring divers from Arendal and Mandal to search along the coast, says Agder’s reporter on the spot.
