Russian oppositionist, former FSB colonel Gennady Gudkov, who left Russia back in 2019 due to the threat of arrest, commented on rumors periodically appearing in the media about Vladimir Putin’s health problems.
In an interview with Alesya Batsman, Gudkov spoke about the examination of the Russian president and pointed out the existence of “two images of Putin.”
“I cannot explain the difference between the two images of Putin. The first is total fear for one’s health, these are quarantines, this is a paranoid syndrome of not getting close to anyone, not communicating with anyone. He had some health problems. Whether they are fatal or not fatal, fatal or not fatal… As doctors joke: there are no healthy people, there are underexamined ones. Maybe Putin is an exception to this rule: he was further examined, and something was discovered there. The second image we see: this is the image of a person who fraternizes with everyone, quickly descends the ladder, and both his right and left hand work. Please note: the Putin we know doesn’t have a very good right hand, he doesn’t even swing it,” added Gennady Gudkov.
In addition, the interlocutor spoke about the psychological state of Vladimir Putin.
“Back then, in 1919, I underestimated this. I had information, one person and I prepared letters, suggesting that he should turn away from this dangerous path, because I perfectly understood that the country was on the brink where it was necessary to retain power by force. But we didn’t succeed with this letter, our appeal to Putin didn’t work out. The person I talked to says: “You know, Gen, Volodya is kind of strange, he now sits for many hours with the generals, shows them some cartoons, videos, samples. He likes it. He doesn’t like everything that’s going on in the country, but this attracts him.” He was already preparing for war then, then he was already hatching plans for war,” Gudkov noted.
