Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will return to Sri Lanka on August 24, his cousin Udayanga Weeratunga has said.
Due to the unprecedented economic crisis in Sri Lanka, there was a huge public protest against the government.
In this, the former president of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa left the country and resigned from his presidency.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who flew first to the Maldives and then to Singapore, left Singapore at the same time his visa expired and went to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
In this regard, the Prime Minister of Thailand, Prayuth Chan-o-cha, confirmed the temporary visit of the 73-year-old Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for humanitarian reasons.
In this situation, former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will return to Sri Lanka on August 24, his cousin Udayanga Weeratunga informed.
