As part of the project “Xalqın mədəni sərvəti” (Cultural Heritage of the People), organized by the Ganja State Philharmonic named after Fikret Amirov, the Central Aran and Ganja-Dashkesan regional departments of culture with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, evenings in honor of the legendary khanende are being held from March 27 to 29, the great Azerbaijani performer of mugham and folk songs, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Jabbar Garyagdyoglu, the press service of the Philharmonic told Day.Az.
Children’s schools and cultural centers, young vocalists and instrumentalists, as well as teaching staff took part in the events. Mugham compositions, tesnifs and folk songs were performed.
The main goal of the project “Cultural Heritage of the People” is the promotion of classical examples of musical art of Azerbaijan, educational activities with the aim of bringing folk music to the general public and modern youth. As part of the project, a series of events are dedicated to prominent cultural and artistic figures. Previously, evenings dedicated to the classics of composer art Fikret Amirov and Gara Garayev were presented.
