In Russia, the number of Pay TV subscribers (those who receive a TV signal from satellite dish antennas or via cable, including the Internet) in the first half of 2021 compared to the end of 2020 increased by only 257,000 to 45.1 million – this follows from the report of Telecom Daily, which Vedomosti got acquainted with. For the year, from July 2020 to June 2021, about 6.65 million TV sets were sold in Russia, GfK also calculated. According to Telecom Daily, during this time, the number of Pay TV users has grown by about 2%, i.e. by just under 1 million subscribers.
