Hyderabad: India are gearing up to face New Zealand after their biggest win in the history of ODI cricket against Sri Lanka. The first match of the India-New Zealand ODI series will be played today at 1.30 pm at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. The three-match ODI series will be followed by the Twenty20 series. The two teams had previously met in an ODI last November.
New Zealand won the series 1-0 due to rain. Meanwhile, in the ICC ODI rankings, New Zealand is first and India is fourth. It will not be easy for New Zealand to beat India as the match is being played in India itself. Because India has won 22 out of 25 bilateral series since 2010.
But among the visiting teams, New Zealand has achieved more in India. New Zealand won the series in 2016-17. New Zealand beat Pakistan 2-1 in the recent match. Meanwhile, India won the series against Sri Lanka by 3-0.

Meanwhile, India’s middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the ODI series against New Zealand due to an injury. Madhya Pradesh player Rajat Patidhar will play in his place. Shreyas Iyer is out of the team due to injury. The injured player has been shifted to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further treatment. The BCCI has not clarified what kind of injury the player sustained outside. Meanwhile, Shreyas had no better innings in the previous series. Iyer’s highest score was 38 runs in the series against Sri Lanka.
The RCB star is continuing his good form for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket. BCCI called Rajat for the ODI series against South Africa last year. But the star is yet to make his debut for India.
India Team Against New Zealand : Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, KS Bharat, Hardik Pandya, Rajat Patidhar, Washington Sundar, Shabazz Ahmed, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj , Umran Malik. After today’s match in Hyderabad, the remaining two matches will be played in Raipur on 21st and Indore on 25th.
The match will be telecast on Star Sports Network. The match will also be streamed on Disney Hotstar.
