Time.news – A shooting in a FedEx warehouse near the Indianapolis airport has caused at least 8 victims. The assailant committed suicide. This was reported by the spokesman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Genae Cook.

According to the reconstruction published by the local Indianapolis Star newspaper, shortly after 11 pm the police responded to a phone call that gave the alarm about a shooting in progress in the FedEx logistics center which is located near the international airport of the state capital of Indiana.

Arriving at the scene, the agents found the shooting in progress. Several people were taken to hospitals in the city. A reception center has been set up in a nearby hotel for the family members of people who are not reachable. More than 4,500 people work at the FedEx sorting center in Indianapolis, the group’s second largest “hub”.

“We have learned of the tragic shooting at our facility,” the company said in a note taken by local media. “The safety of the people is one of our priorities and our thoughts are towards the people who have been affected. We are working to gather more information and we are collaborating with the investigating authorities.”
