Today, Friday, the International Court of Justice issues its decision regarding the possibility of imposing emergency measures on the Zionist entity following accusations from South Africa that the Zionist military operation in the Gaza Strip constitutes state-led genocide.

South Africa considers that the Zionist entity violated in its war the United Nations Convention on Genocide, which was signed in 1948, and stipulates the duty of states parties to prevent and punish the crime of genocide.

Pretoria asked the International Court of Justice to issue interim measures, which are emergency orders that protect Palestinians in Gaza from possible violations of the agreement. Orders issued by the International Court of Justice that decide disputes between states are legally binding and cannot be appealed.

The court is satisfied with examining possible emergency measures intended as a type of restraining order to prevent the conflict from escalating until the court considers the entire case, which may usually take years.
