“Inter RAO” wants to export electricity to Kazakhstan, told reporters the head of the trading unit, member of the board of “Inter RAO” (operator of export-import of electricity in the Russian Federation) Alexandra Panina. According to her, now for the first time the possibility of commercial delivery to this country in November – December 2021 is being discussed.
The power systems of Russia and Kazakhstan operate in parallel, and technical flows of electricity to Kazakhstan are paid at the price of the balancing market (the wholesale sector where deviations from the planned consumption are sold – Vedomosti). In fact, Russian generation is stabilizing the operation of the energy system of Kazakhstan, which practically pays nothing to Inter RAO for this.
