by time news

This Tuesday, April 12, an armed man wearing a gas mask opened fire in the middle of the “36th Street” station, in the Sunset Park district of Brooklyn, not far from the Nets training center.

“I am devastated,” confessed Kevin Durant who faced Cleveland tonight. “I don’t know the details but when you hear the sirens outside the training center and see all the commotion outside, you hope and pray for everyone involved.”

Firefighters said ten people were shot. Thirteen others were injured by the shrapnel and the movement of the crowd, but none were in mortal danger. The suspect is still actively sought by the police.

For their part, the Nets organized announced that they would donate $50,000 as part of a joint donation with the New York Liberty Foundation to help the victims of the shooting.
