Kuwait in election heat; Candidates campaigning for the last time

by time news

Kuwait is about to be elected again. The candidates are in a hurry to make effective use of the limited citizenship opportunities. The partial citizenship opportunities that started in 1962 is a factor that makes Kuwait stand out from other Gulf countries. There are those who see the frequent dissolution of parliament due to differences of opinion and successive elections as a major weakness. Parliament has already been dissolved nine times. But there are many instances where the four-year period has been completed.

It is also a strong assessment that the Kuwaiti people’s structure has been able to go a long way in the fields including women’s empowerment. This time 27 women will be among the contestants. There is a general feeling that the representation and participation of all groups, including women, should rise in Kuwait’s future political development.

In the Arab world, there are those who see the method of determining ministers from the elected MPs as the only excellence of Kuwait. Yugin Pencho, a Bhutanese journalist, will join local candidates in Kuwait in the heat of the final campaign for Thursday’s election.
