However, the question that arises is whether Congress will be able to sail through the election with the help of this alliance?

Congress is named as the main opposition party because there is a direct contest between Congress and BJP on about 200 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country. Among these, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh are the states where there is a direct fight between BJP vs Congress. Here it will be necessary for the party to make a strong claim. This is possible only when the party resolves its mutual disputes and comes out in complete unity against BJP in this election.

However, the party has not yet held any major election rally alone. Not only this, tickets of many big names were cut in the list of candidates released by BJP. Many surprising names were also added to the list. Despite this, there was no significant resentment or anger in the party. On the other hand, there is a tussle going on in the Congress regarding ticket distribution; after the announcement of the candidates, the candidates are also being changed. The latest example of this was seen in Rajasthan. Congress Party had made Sunil Sharma its candidate from Jaipur. However, when there was a dispute over his name, the party declared former Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas as its candidate in his place.
