India’s leading automaker Maruti Suzuki’s crossover SUV Fronx has reached a major milestone in sales. Launched in April 2023, the Fronx has set a record of selling one lakh cars. With this Fronx has also earned the distinction of being one of the fastest selling cars in India. In this case, Maruti Company will make some changes in Fronx models to further increase its sales.
Its sales numbers are a testament to how popular Fronx is with Indian customers. The Fronx has cemented its place as the preferred car in the Indian market. The car’s success is also due to its wide range of powertrain options, including a 1.2-litre K12C petrol engine, a CNG variant and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine.
It must be said that the Fronx Turbo model has been facing some challenges despite its sales record. The main reason for this is that it is more expensive than other petrol cars. Currently the turbo charged engine is available in Delta+, Zeta and Alpha trim models. Hence the price is a bit high. Therefore, Maruti has decided to reduce the price of 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine in order to increase its sales and meet the expectations of the market.

Till now the regular petrol engine is the best selling Fronx car. It is followed by CNG at 16 percent and the 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine at 7 percent. By introducing a more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine in the entry-level Sigma model, Maruti plans to win over more customers. Maruti Suzuki has set a sales target of 25 to 30 percent through this.

Meanwhile, Maruti is about to introduce the 1.2 liter K12C petrol engine in the top models Zeta and Alpha to meet the needs of the customers. It remains to be seen how it will be received by the public. We have to keep in mind that turbo engines are manufactured in India and Maruti plans to reap multiple benefits by investing in them.
