Sam Altman now has a job. Other engineers and workers from the ChatGPT development firm are expected to join the two executives in their new company. Meanwhile, Emmett Shear, former CEO of Twitch, will be in charge of replacing Altman at the head of OpenAI.

Altman’s departure, announced by OpenAI last Friday, was completely surprising. In the statement announcing the executive’s departure, the firm noted that he “was not consistently truthful in his communications with the board, which hindered his ability to exercise his responsibilities.” “The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI,” the company concluded.
