The authorities of the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT) and the National Civil Police (PNC) continued to install anti-doping controls in different parts of the national territory, with the aim of guaranteeing road safety for Salvadoran families.

Yesterday, March 23, a total of 36 dangerous drivers were taken off the road as a result of the anti-doping control devices deployed in the country, during the period prior to Easter.

According to the authorities, for this holiday period more than 1,200 vehicle controls will be carried out nationwide and more than 5,000 anti-doping tests, in order to remove dangerous drivers from circulation.

Likewise, the VMT reiterated to the population regarding the fines issued for failure to comply with traffic regulations: above 50 milligrams per deciliter of alcohol in exhaled air, the driver is subject to a fine amounting to $57.14; while, above 100, they are arrested and must face a judicial process, and must go through a road re-education process.

It is worth mentioning that these actions are part of the strategies of the Government of El Salvador, to take care of the lives of Salvadorans.
