Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC has complained that the tires of the special service bus connecting the temples are intentionally punctured. The service bus connecting Attukal and Sripadmanabha Swamy Temple was punctured five times in a week. In the incident, the City Assistant Transport Officer lodged a complaint with the Fort Police against the auto-rickshaw workers in the Atukal temple premises.

The authorities decided to file a complaint after the tire got punctured on Tuesday as well. A tire is punctured by driving a nail into the board. Complaints have also been raised that auto rickshaw workers in Attukal area are abusive to the bus staff saying that they are not getting runs as the passengers depend on the bus.

According to the complaint, they used to stop the autorickshaw in front of the bus to disrupt the service and tried to attack it. It is alleged by the drivers that Ayyappa devotees from other states are being called into the bus.

The service was started for Ayyappa devotees coming from other states during the Mandal period. There is also a suggestion that the staff should call out the service to Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple so that the devotees who do not know the language can understand. 8000 on average for all 15 services running till 10 pm.
