New Delhi: The Central Government has announced that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has come into effect across the country. In this case, the United States has said that it is closely monitoring the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) implemented by India.

The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was passed by Parliament in 2019, came into effect on March 11. According to this, the minorities belonging to the Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian communities who have sought refuge in India before December 31, 2014 after being religiously persecuted in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be granted citizenship.

But the opposition parties are questioning why there is no place for Muslims in the CAA. In this case, Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave an interview to a news agency about why there is no place for Muslims in the CAA Act, which is designed to grant citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians.

In this case, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said, “India has released details of the notification of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act on March 11. This worries us. We are closely monitoring how this law will be implemented. Respect for religious freedom and equal treatment of all communities under the law is a fundamental democratic principle,” he said.

Why Muslims have no place in CAA? – Amit Shah Explanation: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said in an interview to a news agency that why there is no place for Muslims in the CAA Act, which is designed to grant citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians:

This decision was taken to give shelter to the religiously persecuted and ostracized people as per our judicial system and constitution. It is part of our ideology of ‘Greater Bharat’ which includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Tibet along with India.

Hindus who were forced to migrate to Pakistan during the partition of India-Pakistan accounted for 23% of the country’s population at that time. Today that figure has fallen to 3.7 percent. Where did they all go? Those people don’t come here. Then they were forcibly converted. Humiliated and treated as second class citizens. Where will the people go? Shouldn’t our parliament and political parties take a decision on this?

Otherwise, even Shia, Baloch and Ahmadiyya Muslims are allowed to apply for citizenship in the Constitution of India. The government will take a decision on granting citizenship to them considering factors including national security.” Amit Shah said this.
