NOIDA: India has joined the list of countries to demolish 100 meter tall buildings by demolishing Noida’s twin buildings. Supertech has built a 40-storey twin-tower apartment complex at Emerald Court complex in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It was alleged that the building was constructed in violation of norms. Following the order of the Supreme Court, the building was razed to the ground yesterday using 3,700 kg of explosives. A Mumbai-based firm called Edipice has undertaken the demolition of the building.

With the demolition of these twin buildings, India has joined the list of countries that have demolished buildings over 100 meters tall. Joe Bringman from South Africa’s Jet Demolitions said, “India and Edibis have now joined the club of countries that have demolished buildings over 100 meters high. And these buildings were very close to the residence. This project is very challenging. All praise goes to the entire team,” he said.
